Gilberto Arturo Oyervides, born on September 27, 1952, in Eagle Pass, Texas, passed away peacefully in Quemado, Texas, on July 25, 2026. His passing marks the close of a remarkable life defined by dedication to family, creative talent, and enduring connections to his community.

Beloved by many, Gilberto was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and friend. He was predeceased by his cherished spouse, Maria Guadalupe Oyervides, his sister Guadalupe Dovalina, and his mother Amparo Oyervides. Their memories lived on at the heart of his life, influencing his values and actions.

Gilberto’s legacy is carried forward by his surviving children: daughters Bianca Marines and Debra Longoria, and sons Daniel Carrillo, Omar Ali Oyervides, and Eduardo Salinas. His profound love for his family was a guiding force throughout his life. He also leaves behind his sister Elida Plata and brother Ricardo Oyervides and as well as 11 Grandchildren, with whom he shared deep family bonds and years of treasured memories.

A man of immense artistic talent, Gilberto was known as an amazing artist. His works and appreciation for creativity touched the lives of many around him, serving as both inspiration and a testament to his passion for self-expression.

Friends, family, and the community are invited to honor Mr. Oyervides and remember his life at the upcoming visitation, which will be held on July 29, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riojas Funeral Home, located at 1451 S Veterans Blvd, Eagle Pass, TX 78852. A Rosary will take place at the same location on July 29, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Cremation services are currently pending.
