Raul Garza Perez, born on November 12, 1958, in Eagle Pass, Texas, passed away on February 26, 2026, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He lived a life marked by dedication, service, and close family ties, embodying the values instilled in him from an early age.

Raul proudly served in the United States Navy, reflecting his commitment to his country and his strong sense of duty. His military service was a significant chapter in his life that shaped much of his character and work ethic.

From an early age, Raul was raised by his beloved grandmother, Lydia Porter Garza, who played a pivotal role in his upbringing. This nurturing environment fostered deep bonds, as evidenced by the close relationships he maintained throughout his life. His cousins were not merely relatives but were like sisters and brothers to him, underscoring the strength of family connections he cherished dearly.

Raul is preceded in death by his son, Raul Perez IIII, his grandmother Lydia Porter Garza as well as his parents, Maria Rosa Garza and Raul Perez, Jr. These losses were profound and deeply felt, but Raul remained resilient, finding solace and joy in the family he built around him.

He is survived by his daughters, Mayra Alejandra Perez and Maria Rosa Perez, who carry forward his legacy with strength and love. Additionally, Raul is remembered fondly by his cousins: Veronica Garza Gonzalez, Patricia Munoz, Cynthia Garza, Debra Reynolds, Gabriela Echols Garza, Denise Paz Rojas, Jerry Reynolds, Manuel Reynolds, Arturo Paz, Jr., and Engelbert Paz. Each cousin holds memories of the moments shared with Raul, feelings of camaraderie, and the warmth brought into their lives by his presence.

The family will gather to honor Raul’s memory with a series of services at the Riojas Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on March 8, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 5:00 PM. On March 9, 2026, there will be an additional visitation from 9:00 AM until the Mass at Our Lady of Refuge Church, starting at 11:00 AM. Raul will later be laid to rest at Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery on the same day at 12:00 PM.

Raul Garza Perez leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and faithfulness to his family, friends, and country. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
